Permanently exhibited in Kremlin's Armory Museum, Moscow
This carriage was ordered for Ekaterina II and manufactured by Bretaile in 1763 in Paris. It took almost two years to manufacture and deliver carriage through the city of Danzhig in 1765.
Carriage is made in style of classicism and has incredibly unique handcrafted wood carving and paint art work performed by very skilful and talented artists. Ornament work is absolutely symmetrical. .Remarkable details made in bronze resemble skills of exquisite jeweler. Medallions made from mother of pearls is amazing
Originally even frame and wheels were gold plated, but after extensive renovation in 1881 just a few elements of carriage are still original. This carriage was the most favored by Ekaterina II and was widely used by Empress daily.
